Chicago to Springfield Illinois
Our first day on the route 66 in Illinois was an eventful one. Firstly the taxi driver taking us back to O’Hare airport to pick up the hire car spoke very little English and didn’t have much of a clue where he was going.

Why am i blogging the road
This time one year ago I was sitting on a sun lounger, drinking a cold beer whilst watching my son jump in and out of a swimming pool. It was 40 degrees, the sweat was wetting the pages of my book and as nice as it was i was bored and yearning for a bit of adventure.
