Why I’m Blogging The Road

When i fist started this blog i was fast approaching the half century, well now i’m well over the hill and heading down the other side. I’ve been married for longer than i care to remember and my son is now approaching 23 and is hopefully planning to leave home soon so the other half and I can jet off on more road trips around the world :D

I’ve wanted to join the blogosphere for years but never really had anything I thought would be worthwhile sharing, but a holiday of a lifetime back in 2015, travelling America via Route 66 inspired me to put pen to paper, or at least fingers to keyboard and make a start.

Blogging the road has a number of meanings to me. Its primarily named as I love a good road trip but also my day to day life sees me working as a chauffeur up and down the country so I figure that the title can incorporate some of my rants and observances from the many miles i do on a weekly basis (60k miles and counting so far this year)

I’m not a professional writer but I will try and write some tips and advise relating to the the road trips and holidays I have taken or will take in the future along with sharing my thoughts, observances and photographs of places i have visited. Blogging the Road has never meant to be one of these fancy dan Travel Blog Websites and if truth be told I originally started it so friends and family could follow us on 2015 Route 66 Road Trip. Since then we’ve been back to the USA a few times and I’ve always updated the site as i remembered to and put pictures on our facebook page and it’s just sort of grown from there.

And finally, I’m a massive sneaker head and spend more time photographing whats on my feet than whats on the horizon but i’ll try my hardest not to bore you all with endless pictures of beautiful scenery ruined with a pair of adidas at the forefront.
