We had three nights booked at the Old Manor House in Key West and the general idea was to wander the streets, pop in and out of shops and bars and generally chill out and relax. We sort of did that as it was too hot to do anything to hastily.
We have been back from Florida for a fair few months now but a family holiday to Turkey and work keeping me extremely busy has seen Blogging the Road neglected and without updates. On the following few posts, I intend to post some pictures and videos and give a brief rundown of our Florida Keys trip for our 20th wedding anniversary.
I will just give a quick summary of what we did today whilst we drove to the Yosemite national park as it was mainly driving, stopping to take photographs and being in awe of the countryside, mountains and wild life.
Our first full day in San Francisco was spent walking up some very steep hills ! It doesn’t matter which way you head in San Francisco it would appear you’ll be heading upwards at some point.
We awoke nice and early Thursday morning and headed to Ihop for breakfast. The perfect way to start a long day of walking is with coffee, blueberry and buttermilk pancakes, bacon, hash browns, eggs and lots of maple syrup !
Ive finally got round to editing a few more videos from the hours and hours of footage i took whilst driving Route 66 last summer.
This one takes in our trip from Heathrow airport London to the Chain of Rocks bridge just outside St Louis.
Feel free to have a watch and comment
Well a few months have passed since we got back from our epic Route 66 adventure. Work has been busy and i never did get round to finishing the last few days of the blog unfortunately.
Its taken a few months but i have finally started to upload the many hours of video we took and the thousands of photographs so over the next few weeks i plan to at least edit a few videos and upload them to the site along with adding some more of the photographs we took.
We started the morning with breakfast in another classic American diner. Kix on 66 is a bit of a Tucumcari icon on Route 66 and the pancakes, sausages, eggs and crispier than crispy bacon went down very well.
When i was first researching where we were going to go on route 66 i came across the following video about a ghost town called Cuervo. It sounded so “American Detective” or “Twin Peaks” i just had to make a pull in off the I40 to check it out.
